The Weddings of Saint Anthony

The weddings of Saint Anthony are one of the cornerstones of the Festas de Lisboa. This year, sixteen couples will celebrate holy matrimony at a public and joint ceremony, watched by thousands of people on the streets and via the media.

Saint Anthony at your service

Saint Anthony takes on the role of matchmaker and, with his throne, sets up camp in the Armazéns do Chiado shopping centre. Romantics will have their requests heard and can take a snap to later reminisce.

The Benfica Parish Council is once again joining up with several associations to organise the Great Fair which, beyond traditional seasonal snacks, will include a musical line-up featuring names such as Quim Barreiros (21st June), Matias Damásio (22nd June), Raquel Tavares and Sons do Minho (23rd June) and Jorge Palma (24th June).
