An eclectic programme featuring Portuguese pieces, English carols, and traditional Christmas songs from different countries and periods.

From Natal de Elvas, O Tannenbaum and Adeste Fideles to Schubert’s Ave Maria, there’ll be no shortage of well-known songs to hum along to, which reflect the essence of this group of soloists and instrumentalists from the Teatro Nacional São Carlos.

The concert will take place at the Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Amparo (Church of Our Lady of the Refuge), which was opened in 1809 after a long process of building works which began in August 1750. The original plans were designed by João Frederico Ludovice, the architect responsible for the Convento de Mafra.
