This is a series of shows created by Cláudia Gaiolas, based on the Antiprincesas collection of books (published by Tinta da China and EGEAC), about women who’ve left their mark on history. Women who don’t wear crowns or live in castles or have superpowers. These are common women, real-life heroines who challenged the norms and revolutionised the world through literature, art or politics.

Juana Azurduy was a woman-mother-warrior of indigenous background who fought for a better country and Bolivian independence. On horseback, with sword and pistol in hand, this brave and kind woman faced up to all battles, pushing her life to its limits.
