The project “Libertas – the condition of a free person” aims to question the idea of human freedom, of who has freedom to speak, and the boundaries which exist between societies, classes, groups and individuals. The performance will take the form of a march/protest with participants catching a boat and then taking a walking route. Crossing the River Tagus by boat (Belém – Porto Brandão – Belém) and ending at the Belém River Station, the walking route will continue on to the MAAT in the form of a peaceful march/protest with the singing of the Slaves Chorus from Verdi’s opera “Nabucco”.
