Accessibility for people with reduced mobility.
Thanks to Expo’98, the east section of Lisbon, which lay part abandoned, part frozen in time, was reborn with the creation of Parque das Nações, a city within a city. Photographer Bruno Portela was a privileged witness to one of the country’s greatest urban transformations. Few people have any idea of what inhabited the landscape 20 years ago. Seven exhibitions, with 78 large-scale photographs and a documental tone, will take the visitor to a past which, though recent, will seem faraway and unreal. One city can hide another: careful as you cross.
Each of the exhibitions will be housed in a different area of Parque das Nações: Galp Tower; the Oceanarium; the Pavilion of Portugal; Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre; the Atlantic Pavilion; Vasco da Gama Tower and Vasco da Gama Bridge.
On the first Sunday of each month there will de a guided tour with the photographer and a special guest.
