In Lisbon, the best music to receive the New Year

Three days to the sound of Clássicos no Tejo, José Cid and Ornatos Violeta

Over the last three days of the year we return to the largest open-air concert hall in Lisbon with a free concert set of very different styles. We received 2020 at Terreiro do Paço singing and dancing to the best music at the biggest party in town.

On Sunday (29th) we present a concert of classical music, with an original orchestra formed from scratch for this occasion and composed of 52 musicians. Clássicos no Tejo will be directed by Maestro Cesário Costa and will feature operettas, ballets, dances, waltzes and polka in a very special late afternoon concert (6 p.m.) by the river.

On December 30 (Monday), the star is one of the icons of national pop music and the latest Latin Grammy for Musical Excellence: José Cid takes the stage, starting at 21:30, in a festive performance to sing songs like A Minha Música; Ontem, Hoje e Amanhã and Cai Neve em Nova Iorque.

At midnight, on December 31st,  we received the New Year in Lisbon with fireworks. For 15 minutes, between the river and the beautiful city square, we celebrate with an engaging spectacle of light.

New Year's Eve music is ensured by two of the biggest Portuguese pop rock bands that we challenged to be with us: Xutos & Pontapés, with the usual songs, authentic anthems for the various generations that, over 40 years, accompanied the band; and Ornatos Violeta, at a concert celebrating the entrance to the new year. It will be an unforgettable party made of timeless songs.

In this big party in Terreiro do Paço, and like last year, EGEAC - Company of Equipment Management and Cultural Animation, in partnership with Cerveja Sagres, encourages the public to adopt more sustainable behaviors, by making reusable glasses available. official points of sale of the main sponsor of the increasingly green event. When buying the first drink, the glass will have a security deposit of € 1, the amount returned upon delivery of the glass to the purchase bar and Sagres decorated collection points.
