Lisboa na Rua is back
From August 23th on, Lisboa na Rua festival is back, with a free admission programming full of music, cinema, theatre and dance that will fill the streets, squares and gardens of the city.
In this edition, we celebrate the 70th anniversary of Hot Club de Portugal (HCP), one of the oldest jazz clubs in Europe, with four concerts (Saturdays, at 7pm) in four gardens of the city.
We will also return to the magical Vale do Silêncio on September 8th with the Gulbenkian Choir and Orchestra, this time to play classical music featured on many iconic films, such as 2001 Odyssey in Space, The Dead Poets Society or West Side Story, voted by the public.
Magic will be in the spotlight, from August 28th to September 2nd, with the International Street Magic Festival that will unveil, in several places, some of the best numbers of magic, presented by 15 magicians from 9 countries.
At Jardim do Palácio Pimenta in the Museu de Lisboa, the Brazilian theatre director Christiane Jatahy, Artist in the City 2018, joins this programming with the presentation of Moving People, a project about refugees and migrants told in a first person perspective.
During September, Lisboa na Rua renews the invitation to events that already garnered a faithful audience, such as CineCidade (open air cinema), the sound art of Lisbon Soa, which has water as a common element in this edition, and the Sou do Fado's evenings , this year at Praça do Município. We also invited the public to Dançar a Cidade (open air dance classes) and to discover Lisbon through the architectural look of Open House Lisbon.
In September 30th, the same day Expo'98 ended 20 years ago, we put an end to this year's Lisboa na Rua with "Venham mais Vinte": a concert with Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa and Mário Laginha, specially designed for this occasion, which will take place at 7pm at Altice Arena.
